Nintendo today announces that an exclusive event will be held at the London headquarters of The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on Thursday 16th February 2012. BAFTA will welcome the world renowned videogame developer, director and producer Hironobu Sakaguchi to the stage to discuss his illustrious career as the creator behind some of the greatest video games, a departure into film and his return to his heartland of gaming with the creation of the critically-acclaimed The Last Story™ for Wii.

FDG 2012, the International Conference on the Foundations of Digital Games brings together experts and researchers in all areas of game design in one place to share new ideas and contributions to their respective fields. This year FDG is hosting for the first time an experimental game festival to feature new ideas in game design.

Games Britannia 2012 builds on the enormous success of this year’s event, hosted at Brinsworth Comprehensive School Academy Trust, which won the Education and Technology Conference 2011 award for the “Best use of ICT to support learning in a secondary school The potential for Games Britannia is unprecedented.
